trust · your reflections

How your reflections are held.

When you share what's alive in you, we treat it as an offering — not data to extract. Here's exactly what happens, and what doesn't.

from your words to connection

What actually happens to what you share.

You share

A few reflections on the question you're sitting with.

We anonymize

Names, emails, and identifying details are stripped before anything reaches the AI.

Themes reach the model

The AI sees questions and themes — not people.

Humans decide

The Circle Agent surfaces resonances; a facilitator and your circle do the rest.

our commitments

What we do, and what we never do.

what we do
  • Surface non-obvious resonances — questions that rhyme, experiences that might speak to each other.
  • Strip identifying details before anything reaches the language model.
  • Store reflections on secure ServiceSpace infrastructure, stewarded by volunteers for over two decades.
what we never do
  • Never train any AI model on your reflections.
  • Never attach your identity to what reaches the AI.
  • Never sell, monetize, or hand your words to advertisers.
  • Never let staff browse reflections out of curiosity.
the difference

The same AI, held with care.

We don't have our own language model — we use existing AI (Claude, GPT, Gemini). What's different is what sits between you and them: a layer of intentional curation, anonymization, and care.

typed into ChatGPT
  • identity travels with your data
  • tied to your account, email, history
  • commercial incentives shape policy
  • may be used to train the model
with the Circle Agent
  • identity stays with us, separate from the AI
  • anonymized text only reaches the model
  • gift economy — no commercial incentives
  • never used to train any model
pod reflections

Your pod history — only if you choose.

If you've been part of a ServiceSpace Pod, you can opt in to include those reflections, so the Circle Agent sees deeper patterns across your contemplative journey — a month-old contemplation might resonate perfectly with your current question. It's always optional: the intake form makes it explicit, and you can change your mind at any time.

Questions people ask.

Who has access to my reflections?
Only the Circle Agent system, for matching — and, in rare cases, volunteer facilitators reviewing circle compositions. No one on staff browses reflections out of curiosity; your words are handled with the care we'd want for our own.
Which AI providers do you use?
We're LLM-agnostic — currently Claude (Anthropic), GPT-4 (OpenAI), and Gemini (Google). We choose providers for capability and alignment with our values, and can adapt as the landscape evolves.
How long do you keep my data?
Your reflections stay in the system as long as you're part of the circle-matching pool. Request deletion and we remove your data promptly — typically within a few days.
What about the circle calls themselves?
Calls happen on Zoom and are recorded so members who miss one can catch up. Recordings are accessible only to circle participants and the team, and are never published or shared externally. (See the recording section of the Circle Agreements for full details.)
Why should I trust this?
ServiceSpace has operated in the gift economy for 27 years — no ads, no investors, no monetization. There's no commercial incentive to misuse your data, because there are no commercial incentives, period.
Is it secure?
Your data lives in a private, isolated network — not on the open internet — encrypted both at rest and in transit, on the principle of least privilege. Industry-standard protections, stewarded by volunteers who've cared for community data for decades.
Can AI really find meaningful connections?
We're experimenting. AI can surface thematic resonances a human might miss, but it can't replace human discernment — think of it as a pattern-noticing assistant, not a matchmaker. The humans create the connection.
Your reflections are yours.
Request removal at any time, and we'll delete your data from our system — no reason needed.
